At World's End

In this world we live in, survival and competition are needed to cope up with the changes we are currently adapting.

We gain success, and the goals and ambitions drive us to fulfill the desires of our hearts. But we nevertheless forget that it is God who gives these blessings, and He is the reason of our existence until this day.

If that is the case, we need to evaluate ourselves and commit to live for Him until the world's end.

I attended a 5-day camp to learn about this, and it has been a faith-challenging experience. And from there, here's what I've learned from it:

1. Live in the light of God's glory.
As Christians, we are promised by Christ that He will come again. He will come at a time that we least expect it. We ought to live in this expectation and hope by living in such a way that He will be glorified.

And also, we ought to live in the light. This is so because of our salvation found in Him, through His atoning death on the cross. And we continue on until the day God promises a new heaven and a new earth prepared for us.

2. Live in order to keep up a good account.
There will come a time where God will judge us, and we will be accountable for our lives. Since we surrendered our lives to Christ, He now holds our destiny. Therefore, living for Him should be our goal and He should be of utmost importance at every area of our lives.

When it comes to our goal, let us not forget that life is not all about us, but is about God. And we can do so by the power of God's Spirit that's in us.

3. Always be prepared.
We may be busy with our daily routines, but sometimes we become negligent in making preparations for His second coming. Though there is a little seen, we forgot the first love we have for Him.

Just like a groom who feels happy when his bride is fully prepared, we ought to be fully prepared when we meet with Christ. Therefore, we are to be watchful on the day or hour that He will come, for His coming is very uncertain.

4. Fight the good fight.
In living our lives for Him, it involves being in the fear of the Lord day by day. As we grow in walking with Him, we become more and more like Him until we become the finished product He desires in us. To that, we are to be holy as He is holy.

When hardships come our way, we ought to endure them. We ought to persevere until the end, with our faith still unwavering. For once we are able to make it and stand firm, we will be fully rewarded.

We all know that God is loving, merciful and gracious, but we should also know that He is just. Therefore, we are to prepare for His coming by living like it's our last day.

If this is being built well, we continue further. If there is a need to renew our commitment to Him, there's no better time than now. If there's a need to receive Him as our personal Lord and Savior, there's no better time than now. For if the time comes and we will be judged well, we will be assured being with Him and His people for eternity.
