Covenant Love

We all love one another. And we have our own way to be shown that love.

So if we love God, how does he want to be loved? This is through our obedience.

We can learn from the Israelites. Before entering the Promised Land, they wandered for 40 years in the wilderness. And their experiences can teach us how to give that deepest kind of love.

And these are things I learned from them:

1. Always value your relationship with God.
In a relationship, there's give and take. I appreciate what God has done for us. We give back by doing what He wants us to do. If we want our relationship with Him to flourish, this is where we go.

2. Know who God is in your life.
We get to know Him by experiencing Him in our lives. And when He does, we can attest to who He is to us. If you ask me, He's a holy God. He doesn't like sin. He speaks to us. Therefore, we should listen to Him. He's a wise God. And most importantly, He is alone God.

3. Love greatly.
If we know how to love Him in everything, we can also do that to others. It's the Greatest Commandment He gave us. Jesus showed this example well. He loved and treated them well in spite of who they are.

4. Love continuously.
If we continue to love Him by following and obeying His commands, we're promised His blessings from above. This is His expression of love to us.

5. Journey with Him.
Because of this great love relationship, He promises to be us with whatever journey we're taking. We can be assured because of three things because we're His chosen people. We're His treasured possession. We're truly loved by Him.

This is a kind of love we show in our every day walk with Him. And once we do, we can see His faithfulness. We can see His covenant of love that endures to a thousand generations. It's His promise to those who love Him in obedience.
