Eat well. Drink well. Sleep well. Have time for e
xercise. Relax.

Yes, it's the healthy lifestyle we know all along. But what if we can use this to make disease in us disappear?

What if I tell you that you can invite yourself to an illness? Your health depends on what you do to yourself. Do you allow yourself to take anything inside your body? Or do you take care of it?

I'm sure we'll look at wellness on a new level. In a time where we're kept busy always, we should know how to balance everything we handle in life. We need to control our health so that we can live long and healthy. And it's convenient to do.

Let's look at each lifestyle part in detail:

Relax
Let's admit it. This is the hardest thing to do. But it's a great need. With all the roles we portray in life, we need to make time to find ourselves as ourselves. That's why this is is a first and high priority.

At the start of the day, set a few minutes to be still and mindful. When the day ends, you can go for a walk, read a book, play music, or do a hobby like dancing or cooking. You can have a talk with your family or friends over a meal. Make sure you don't get hooked on your mobile device.

Before you sleep, list down things that went well for you. List down the things you're thankful for. These can help you become calm. You'll feel relaxed inside out. When you master this, you can do well with the rest.

Eat
We all know we need to eat to have the fuel to keep ourselves going. And we must care about the kinds of foods we feed ourselves with. Just like a car that needs to be filled with the right gas, so it is with us. What you eat can make a difference in how you can maintain yourself.

You need to be mindful of what you're eating. Eat a lot of foods with different colors. Say no to highly processed foods. Make sure you restrict your food intake. Cut out the sugar. Drink lots of water a day.

Move
We're designed to keep our bodies moving, but our modern life keeps us sitting for the whole day. Physical inactivity is shown to be one of the biggest causes of premature death. It can be as bad as smoking or being overweight.

Let's make time to do some movement every day. Aim to walk for at least 10,000 steps per day. Do some form of strength training. You can also get into a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session. You can work on the parts of your body that matter, whether be legs, arms, or glutes. The great thing is, you can do it with a friend or in a group. Your health will be greatly benefited when you find an activity that can make you work out.

Sleep
In our times today, we give this less value. We think that it's only for the weak. So we take this for granted and make it optional. As a result, many suffer the outcomes of sleep deprivation that can affect us inside out. Whatever we're going through, we should make time to recover ourselves so that we can have the needed will and mindset for the next day.

To prepare ourselves for sleep, we should create an environment of absolute darkness. No TVs or e-devices allowed. Find time to embrace morning light in a day. Create a bedtime routine. Make sure that you ready your body before you go to bed. If you're taking caffeine, make sure that you enjoy it before noon.

Until this time, it's still the same amount of our need for self-care. And I'm amazed to know that. In a time where we all focus on speed, it can be challenging. But there are always ways to work things out.

What's important is we should protect and take care of our health the most. It fuels our bodies, which are vehicles through which we can be used to make a difference. I'm very sure that we all want to wake up every day strong and healthy. We work well, move well, and relate well so that we can make the most of what really matters in life.

Also, remember that what we choose matters. A small decision can lead to a change we may not expect.

So if we assess, what have our choices lead us to?
What's been our choice of food? Have we made some time in a day for movement? Have we made routines to prepare ourselves for the next day? Have we set time to breathe and meditate, to recover the body and mind? Are we making a good influence to help others become healthy?

When it comes to health and wellness, it's more than just looking good. It's a matter of how we maintain ourselves in living our lives. If we want to make the most in life, let's do so while we're still able. Let's have this healthy mindset in us. Let's take this lifestyle one step at a time. And when we can acquaint ourselves with it, we keep going.
