Mouth Watch

It has power.
How well do we use it?
It can build up or tear up.
How do we handle it?

Like an atom bomb
Or a two-edged sword
How do we wield our words?
Where do they spring toward?

It can take just one
To bring destruction
But in a time like this,
There's a need for construction.

Can we be mindful?
Can we be wise?
Can we be compassionate?
Words like these- life can arise.

What do we speak to ourselves?
The narratives that we create
The truths that we accept
Depend on what we give weight

Know the truth about you.
Give grace to yourself.
Know your true worth.
Your reality is shaped by yourself.

How about our families?
What can we do for them?
Can we pause before saying anything?
Can we learn to listen to them?

Can we bring out the best in them?
Just full attention, no assumptions
Let them be what they're supposed to be.
Prepare them with the needed lessons.

How about others?
Can we inspire when we can?
To know when we speak.
To really construct in all we can.

It's a free gift we have.
We all need to use it well.
Take time to tame it.
So great words come out as we tell.
