Deep Ground

What is an attribute that comes to mind when associating a deep person?

One who is quiet and analytical

One who thinks before he speaks

One who is flexible and adaptable to any life situation

One who isn't swayed easily but also not stubborn

One who knows to love the moment more than anyone else

If these are your thoughts, then they're valid points. Yes, these mainly describe such a person, and there's more to that. He becomes such because he has fully experienced what life has for him, bringing out the humanity he has himself.

A person with depth takes time to breathe.

He finds importance in silence and solitude- keys to helping him ensure that his life doesn't go undernourished.

He knows how to find rhythm in movement and stillness. He slows down, pauses, and creates emotional and spiritual spaces to form the inner sanctuary where he can connect, listen, meditate, and reflect.

It's in that solitary place where he can find and regain power, strength, clarity, rest, energy, grace, sensitivity, self-control, and healing. No busyness, distraction, or restlessness can stop him from pursuing that.

A person with depth knows to be simple.
He finds simplicity in everything he sees and reflects it in his actions. He always seeks the main thing and keeps it a priority. He focuses on living with a high degree of intentionality. He doesn't need to show off. He doesn't need to invest in things that don't matter in the long run.

All he has in mind is to stay consistent with his identity, to stay committed to his responsibility, and to stay contented with the sufficiency he needs.  It shows his wisdom in how he deals with life's matters. He finds fulfillment in this as he enjoys life's fullness.

A person with depth continues learning.

He drives himself to continuous learning and finds avenues for such. He takes any chance for it - whether from people, learning materials, or real-life experiences.

He values learning, and he finds ways to learn effectively. He ensures he keeps that habit. In learning, he also makes time to understand and reflect on his newfound knowledge. He understands that it's not just for information but also wisdom and transformation. So when challenging situations come, his learnings will allow him to stand his ground.

A person with depth makes the day.

He knows how to make the most of every single day he has. He wants to live each day right, so he plans for it and wins it. As he does this, he also has in mind to keep a spirit of generosity to others who are in need.

He sees that every day is about reflecting the character the people around him need. He understands that life is about making a valuable contribution to his surroundings. In this sense, he knows how to make life worthwhile.

These show how deep a person finds himself in terms of his thoughts, values, and principles. When he embodies them, he can get by any situation he faces. He can be relied on for advice, encouragement, and wisdom. We all want that manifested in us, don't we?

So, how can we enlarge ourselves to become deep people?

1. Make an effort to reach out for it.
It's not an easy one. Only a few people are willing to move out from their shallow space and seek the depth they want. Let's not ignore any hint of curiosity we have in us. Let's also not allow any instance of ignorance to pass by. Let life not stop us from understanding everything around us and making a life we can live.

2. Invest in the right things to meditate.
What are the most important things to think about and put our focus on?  They can direct us in making the most value of ourselves. They help us be in touch with ourselves in the present moment. And from there, we need to give time to developing the right mindset about the realities surrounding us so that we know how to deal with them well.

3. Keep your ground.
Always remember the experiences encountered and the lessons learned. Let life teach us and humble us. Let's also take learnings from people with lives of great depth and be inspired by their wisdom. These help us grow in our thinking and find the individual depth we can have.

4. Be firm in any situation.

When life challenges us, let's overcome and be resilient, even going beyond that. Let's bounce back and come out better than before. Let's stay strong no matter how relentless or persistent it tries to bring us down.

5. Have a purpose mindset.
It's the end goal of it all. Purpose helps us find depth and meaning every day of our lives. It's the immersion that brings that factor. Every day becomes colorful when we live life with purpose. So we should take time to drive ourselves to fulfill that purpose.

Being deep can bring great abilities. We can think anything through well. That kind of thought can earn the respect of others, as it's supported by other thoughts that, when connected together, make a deeper sense. We're fully aware of our surroundings. We can understand people, knowing what they need and want better than they know themselves. The downside is if it's used for the wrong purposes.

Having depth for ourselves is a gift. We can develop that. And when we do, we can use that to inspire others to go deeper. Let's use it right. And may that depth transform us in ways that our perspectives widen and we become better individuals.
