When God reigns in our lives, how would we be? What is it like to have Him inside us? How would we look at life with that?
We would be following to where He leads us, right? We would also be following His example in being and doing. In short, we reflect on the God we serve as His people.
Now, how are we reflecting like Him today? Do we see Him in everything and in everyone we meet? Do we embody what He would do in everything? How true are we for that?
How can we manifest that Jesus reigns in us? Here’s what I can list:
1. We have the heart of Christ.
2. We focus on growing our faith.
3. We are committed to our purpose.
We may know these well, but do we still keep these to heart until now? Do we show that He’s still alive through us?
I think it’s time that we need to ask this question: How’s your heart?
Is it still filled with God’s love?
One thing we need to remind ourselves is that we should walk in the Way of Love every day. When God called us to become a new creation in Him, He went out for us at all costs out of His love. So if we tell the world of His love, should it be appropriate that we be a testimony of it as well? If we’re a testimony of His love, then we should love like how He would.
If the power of Jesus is strong and real back then, how can we still show that today? Do we want to make it a chance?
Well, it starts with you and me. And this is our time. Don’t let it put to waste. And to fulfill our mission effectively, we should have the right heart. A right heart can have the right focus and the full commitment in our walk with God.
So, let’s ask the question again: How’s your heart?
Is it still ignited by the love that amazes us and carries us through our lifetime?
How do we ignite our hearts with love, one that is filled by Him, which in turn can be a love we can give to others? Here’s what I can list:
1. Make a home for your heart.
That home is where we can warmly welcome God. We allow Him to live comfortably there. After all, He lives in us so that He can help us become like Him.
And to ensure that he would be home into our hearts, we need to safeguard it at all costs. We’re reminded of this because everything we do flows from the heart. What we allow inside will reflect who we are. So if we allow things that don’t show who God is, how can others see Him?
With this, we should be diligent in being careful with our words, actions, and the things we see.
2. Make an effort to grow in faith.
The point of becoming Christ-followers isn’t only in salvation but also in transformation. We need to understand that these two mainly comprise God’s work in all of us, even at this time. So we need to take the new heart God wants in us. We can continue leading people to Him if we truly become who He is.
Now, I know it’s not easy because we still struggle with our sinful nature. But we are lead by the Holy Spirit day by day to become like Him. It may take a while, but let’s trust the process. What’s important is that He continues to work in us.
We take the discipline of this transformation, even though it’s painful. But then, it will bring out good fruit. When we go through trials, we take this as an opportunity to strengthen our faith and to inspire with it. And this also brings good fruit.
We should understand that the Christian life isn’t just about knowledge of the mind, but also a change in the heart. Every step of growth is a life-changing experience, and this is no exception. The more we grow, the more we can have our hearts set on Him. And that is if we can embrace it fully.
3. Make the goal to persevere.
It’s tough out there. How determined are we to finish strong until God finishes His purpose in us? Are our hearts set for the eternal hope in Him despite the difficulties? Do they come out to become the heart He wants?
Is there any excess baggage that we need to leave behind? It would be hard if we finish running a race with them. The longer you keep it, the heavier it feels until the need calls for you to let go. Let’s throw off everything that hinders us and take the new heart we can present ourselves to God at the finish line.
And also, keep on running. Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus. If we grow weary and lose heart, remember what He did for us and how much He endured so that we can be where we are right now. Take heart. We can make it.
I know for a fact that there’s work to be done, most especially in these challenging times. But wouldn’t this be an opportunity to bring the hope and love we have in Christ to those in need? Just like how Jesus reached out to us, can we reach out to them as He would?
It’s time that we become well-versed not only in teaching but also in action. Can we become like Jesus if He were here today?
If we allow Jesus to reign in our lives and ignite ourselves every day in His love, then we can reignite to have the faith shine once again. He can be real to us once again. When we work together, we can truly represent the God we praise and serve. So let’s check, recalibrate if needed, and get that fire once again.
