Whatever phase of life you are at right now, there are life points we need to remind ourselves of. These reminders can be taken at any time of our lives.
1. Are our decisions making us thrive?
Making good decisions can be difficult. Are we choosing out of short-term personal gain or long-term blessing? Do we check our emotion levels to see if we’re making rational decisions?
Can we still manage our energy to make the right decisions?
One decision can change the course of life. So considering these factors, we should consciously strive to make the right decisions to thrive.
2. Are we filling our oil to keep our fire burning?
We all have that experience of being on fire, but there will come a time when you will get burnt out. It’s because we’ve been taught to pursue fire instead of oil. The right way is to seek the oil. If we can fill ourselves with the oil we need, we can be fueled enough to bring out the fire in us.
Seek the oil from the Holy Spirit to keep our fire for our First Love burning. Eliminate all killers that keep our focus on Him. Be relentless in seeking Him, and be energized by Him.
3. Are we listening to the voices we need in life?
There are voices around us. We always hear voices that depress us, lose our hope, or discourage us from rising and winning the fight. But we also hear voices that do otherwise.
Which voice do we listen to build us? Which one do we listen to shape us? Which voice do we listen to tell us who we are and what our lives are all about?
Do we choose the voice that makes us bitter or the one that makes us better?
4. Are we putting our hearts into the Kingdom of God?
As God’s children, we have a role in bringing His Kingdom here on Earth. Do we still continue to be all out for it? Do we still continue to embody His humility and love to the people around us and lead them to Him?
Let’s not forget to fulfill that mission. What we do determines how His kingdom is built.
5. Are we significantly useful in what we do?
If we can make a difference in the world around us, if the people around us benefit from our lives, and if people’s lives are changing for the better because of us, it’s a life that’s well-lived and of great use.
There’s a world that needs healing and restoring. Let us be present and persistent to bring that.
6. Are we resilient in what we’re going through?
As we go through life, everything we meet along the way changes us.
Either we are easily shaken, upset, or pressured. Or we are quick to bounce back but remain the same. Or transcend and transform when we go through hardships and difficulties.
Let’s take heart and be assured that He has overcome the world. Let’s trust Him in every step of the path we take and find peace in Him so that we can become truly resilient.
7. Are we putting our hearts in the right condition?
The heart is the inner part that hears, understands, receives truths, makes decisions and judgments, and many more.
Are our hearts grounded in good soil? It’s one that bears fruit with patient endurance. It doesn’t get easily hardened. It doesn’t fall away when tests come. It doesn’t get choked easily by what riches and pleasures life can bring. Let’s achieve that as it brings great abundance in us.
8. Are we a neighbor to others?
Are we operating in love? Are we offering it to others with no condition? Are we willing to be close or near to them, most especially to those in need?
Are we willing to remove our prejudice or bias? Are we willing to be inconvenienced if needed? And from there, are we willing to be an extra miler?
That’s true love, and it nourishes and impacts others. It’s a taste of heaven that they can see.
9. Are we willing to trust in the small things?
Just like God’s work in our lives that starts very small and unrecognizable. But when we allow that small seed to grow in us, it expands our lives to a level that we can’t even imagine.
Small things can make a big difference in His economy. So let’s not be discouraged when we’re given the smallest tasks. Let’s be faithful in these opportunities, begin where we are, do what we can, and leave the results to Him.
10. Are we seeking love, joy, hope, and peace always?
In every season, there’s a light we all need in the midst of what we’re going through. It’s a blessing when we receive that light, but the good news is we can be that blessing, too.
We need to fuel that light. Make time for stillness in Him. Surrender to His plans and movement in your life. And dare to sacrifice for His cause. If we can do these, then we can pass on a gift that keeps on giving.
11. Are we stepping into the new each day?
God is always doing something new. He wants us to enter into His new plans and purposes for us. In order for this to happen, we must move with Him.
And one key factor for it is to align, to sync, and to attune our desires with His heart. If we’re willing, let our desires be clear, pure, and real to His plans and purposes so that He can lead us to a fulfilling journey ahead.
12. Are we intentional in our plans each day?
We all want to achieve great things and great depth in our lives. If this is our plan, are we strategic, purposive, and intentional with our plans to attain that? If so, then we must be willing to train, practice, and focus on our own development until we reach them - all with intentionality.
Do we want to be consistent with our prayer lives - spending time with Him, stretching our concern to intercede for others, and surrendering control to Him to do the work?
Do we take time to read His Word slowly but surely and treasure those words wholeheartedly?
Do we choose to embody sacrificial love each day?

Let's make an effort to keep our life in God alive and attracting.
Every day is a step to something new, something unknown. Seek God's strength and wisdom always. Pray through. When we make mistakes, know it's not final. Learn from them and repent. Seek His presence and His peace. Be genuine in faith and worship to Him.
And don't forget to make the best story we're proud to tell. We may not change the past, but we can do something in the present to impact the future. And it starts now, day by day, all year round.
